The Loss of Intimacy – Written Friday 31st January 2020 (Aged 44)

The Loss of Intimacy

i am not sure anymore,
if we enjoy intimacy or privacy
these days,
we share everything…
do we really long to be so adored?
is this focus on, ‘self’
so good for our societal mental health?
what happened to privacy
and intimacy,
and the joy in micro sharing
the one you love, always caring
we share everything,
our lives plotted and recorded in every way
but i just want you to share my day
when we did we lose it,
that feeling of joy and privacy
this virtual social media reality
for me, there is a joy,
in the things i share with just one
or even maybe just two,
it makes them intimate and special
as if it is yours alone
the rest of the world does not need to know
neon light always have an unnatural glow
i am not sure we enjoy the intimacy
or the privacy of human contact,
