He Drowned in His Mental Health – Written Saturday 15th February 2020 (Aged 45)

He Drowned in His Mental Health

he drowned in his poor mental health
he wreaked havoc
on my childhood
and never attempted to clear up the mess
he drank himself dry
just trying to learn how it is you cry
he added,
a permanent, ‘i wonder why’ to my life
written in indelible ink
with a permanent stain
that found itself in every groove
and try as i might
it would not be removed
he cost us every event
and forced us to always lose
he busted our heartache
and contaminated our ability to choose
he tampered with our plugs
and blew every fuse
he re-fashioned us from possible winners
to individuals more likely to lose
he found women like coats find coat stands
and he found them too easy to use
he drowned in his poor mental health
and all we ever did or could do, was move
