Important Life Markers
you reminded me –
of a time
when i thought the world of you
and you reminded me –
of how big and how interesting –
that was
and its depth and breadth
i had forgotten –
that after all these years
how much i thought of you
and how i always felt lacking in worth
or too shy to tell you
and i was taken back all those years
to meeting you at the bus stop in town
spending time at the flat
how my crush was almost too much
i think there was a time –
when we did not happen
because of snow
but i do not think my feelings melted –
or ever decided to just go
you reminded me –
of a time – far away from here
in that foreign land we call the past
where i was ruled by unregulated feelings
i thought the world of you
and i remember clearly how i felt about you
and it is lovely warm memory
that exists like a favourite toy
