Sweet and Touching

did i write you poems
– oh that is sweet
and they meant something to you
that is so sweet and touching
at that age –
i thought it was all worth, ‘nothing’
– i was there
wanting to be something
oh, you made me smile
and my crush on you
hung onto the telephone numbers we dialled
– here you are
where so many rivers have run around us
through us, with us and without us
did i write you poems?
– oh that is sweet
