When You Wanted to Belong
you licked their boots
then they turned you over
a character assassination
that not even i would unleash
yet you licked their boots
and grovelled on your belly
when you wanted to belong
you nodded like a toy dog
on the parcel shelf of a cheap car
and ou praraded your desire
on a knackered carnival float
you licked their boots
et when they ask you to explain
and they asked you to elaborate
when they challenged you
you hissed and kicked
and venom did flow
you licked their boots
but your scorn, it soon showed
