Leaving – Written Saturday 28th June 2008 (Aged 33)

Leaving

i wish you had not left
and i wish you had stayed
but in amongst the mess
the one that i have made
i realise there will be casualties
and i would like to think
that we could be saved
but i do know how you feel
and anything less is second best
it is just a case of when,
when we have to let go
hands outstretched in amongst the mess
that i have made
i wish you had not left
and i wish you had stayed
but i have hurt and torn your feelings
the door closed with a thump
and i know you are really leaving
