live and Learn?

we live –
and we learn
we build bonfires
only to watch our past burn
we go forwards
only to take to the floor
with the slightly insane
and terminally bored

you smile,
and your laugh
is so infectious
we live –
and we learn
and we wonder
as these things burn
just how much –
have i learned?
