Coping – Written Monday 11th July 1999 (Aged 24)

Coping

i know i hurt you
but that is no excuse
for bad things to be said
it is the death of many peoples belief
that is how i see the bed
i wanted sympathy today
not brute honesty,
i have been telling myself that all week
and i have been facing it all week
just sometimes i wish you would cut the cold
cut the, ‘stand offish’
and let yourself be held
i know that is just you
but sometimes your coldness hurts
i am sorry that things have gone like this
it looks like they could be worse
i hope time will heal, i hope it will
yes i hope it will
