Not Once But Twice
i have always known
that the fingers
point at the likes of me
it counts fingers and toes
and how often we breathe
it knows our fingerprints
and it never leaves
i have always known
that the walls of suburbia
are made of polystyrene bricks
that it is euthanasia
for the tragically kissed
i have always known
that the likes of me
will not be flavoured by spice
we are the scars of failures
left not once, but twice
