Couldn’t Be Everyone – Written Between February and June 1995 (Aged 20)

Couldn’t Be Everyone

couldn’t be everyone
sometimes you are just a face in a crowd
sometimes you would love to be someone
but you can never be everyone
you can never please them all
just get as much done as possible
i wanted you to think so much
to think i was special
i wanted everything including your touch
just for me
but we were separated –
by the bounds of different realities
i couldn’t be everyone
i can only be someone
and it is up to you
just how special that someone is
