Telephone Money – Written Between June and February 1995 (Aged 20)

Telephone Money

telephone money
wishing for a sweetheart
a little darling honey
don’t depart,
let me get some telephone money
and we will keep on talking
we know what it is like
no to feel like anyone
but we must remember
we see each other as special someone’s
and i think we both know
that means a lot
that is something we have both got
telephone money
watching my credit shrink
you cannot see my thoughts
as i carefully blink
my mind is controlled
it is on a roll
you tell me another joke
and i start to find it funny
let me wait here for a while
let me get some telephone money
and then we can both smile
