Today Feels Different
it feels different
today feels different
with its long hours –
with its heat
and springtime flowers
it feels different
different to those days
that i knew before
with their opportunities
before i opened doors
i sit here –
forcing my eyes open
trying to stay awake
it feels different
somehow not so fake
there is a vase
contained within –
is self confidence
and i sit by a hungry lake
today feels different
and now it is getting late
