They Ride Racehorses

driven people,
we all live with them
although ambition is overrated
the pursuit of goals
it is something to behold
it is not me
they ride racehorses
i clamber onto foals
they dominate premarked courses
i am never sure of goals

driven people
guts on the line
focused, almost blind
that unflattering self belief
or is it self determination
with a better set of teeth
i could be ambitious
but a streak of laziness
streaks across my lands
maybe it was school
perhaps it was how i learnt
