I Am a Shy Person

i am a shy person
dancing clumsily in the spotlight
i am a frightened person
searching for the next high
i am the outward bound individual
trying to stay inside
i am the pickled and the picked –
chased through forests
trying to give people the slip
i am the unwelcome comedian
just trying to laugh it off
i am the village idiot
stuck in genius stocks
i am a shy person
that screams for their privacy
but shares themselves with the world
i am a master of reality
trying not to court the cold
as i willingly romance insanity
i am the shaped and the loved
tied to a stuttering bed
with a narrow vision
and boundless dreams in my head
