You Do Not Have To Earn It
watch them dilute your worth
treat you as an idiot
a piece of dirt
you look for wit
and something clever to say
just to ease the pain of your day
but there is not much else
so you dream of saying,
‘go and fuck yourself’,
and one day,
‘you will be fucked over’
and know how it truly feels
to be the dirt
and life’s trundling wheels
‘go and fuck yourself’
tell them to their face
that you are a valuable human being
and deserve your place
you do not have to earn their respect
you do not have to beg for your own space
