Space Invader – Written Saturday 1st May 2004 (Aged 29)

Space Invader

backing off, backing away
whilst i have slept at night
a hand,
has held me tight
this theme is too well covered
but give me a light
because i just feel so smothered
i want to open my arms
i am not so sure,
emotions are what i lack
it is just these arms feel –
like they are tied behind my back
i just cannot,
i just can’t be this thing
i have heard no expectations
but i know i am filling a role
whilst i have slept at night
i have searched for a reason
just to make me feel right
