Why Do We Save Others
why do we save others
or attempt to save others
when we can not save ourselves
why do we send out –
the rescue teams
when nightmares have a hold
and we dream on dreams
why do we plunge head first
into waters we know nothing about
become lost never found
fearing no one will hear the shout
as hope begins to drown
why do we claim to be a hero
when cowardice has always had a go
i will never known
i will never truly know
