I Saw The Old Me Run Past
i am not that person
not anymore
leave your boots by the door
turn up the fire
sit by a distant shore
the fun and games
has become a rudderless boat
not i get things done
and i try to stay afloat
i cannot be
the person i once was
it is not by choice
it was just,
i have lost my voice
but the world,
it paddles on
whilistling a waltz
singing a merry song
i am not that person
and they do seem to be in the past
time is fragile
and does not seem to ever last
i looked out of my window
and i saw the old me run past
