You Used to Smile Like That

you used to smile like that –
when we first knew each other
the things you say about him –
you used to say them about me
and when we first met –
you used to use that voice
the one you use when he calls
you had that voice for me –
when we first connected
and i cannot decide,
if i have been replaced or rejected
i was not aware of an election
but this new person has been elected
your behaviour now,
is no different to when –
when we first knew each other
the time when all those things begun
you used to smile like that
but then, we were so very young
