Vultures
i watch the vulture
as it circles above
picking over the carcass
that we once called love
i wonder why it does
does it truly believe
in its own fate
and what will happen
when one day
soaring over new heights
no longer matters
when the dream offered
suddenly shatters
will another vulture
start to circle above
picking over that carcass
of their love
