Can’t You See My Face
can’t you see my face
it tells you all you need to know
i was getting scared
i did not want it to show
i had to save us,
i wanted to be strong
i felt i had to be brave
can’t you see my face
when it can,
it tells you all you need to know
weather you should stay,
or weather you should go
you know i would,
you know i do
and i hope it shows
i have never asked for much
a little happiness,
is often enough
but this gift that money cannot buy
seems so hard to get
and so hard to come by
can’t you see the lines on my face
that is where the tears run dry
and behind my eyes,
in my soul that is where i wonder why
can’t you see my face
