Everyday I Get Up

everyday i get up
keep myself going
because half the point
is knowing –
understanding each day
knowing what to do
knowing what to say
if i want to know anything
i want to know it today
because i have got to know now
tomorrow is to far away
if you tell me something
anything,
i will keep it to myself
because your secrets are for you
and nobody else
think about it,
really think about it
who actually cares
it is the way you are
and the crooked smile he wears
