Green Glass Jar – Written Between Tuesday 15th February 1994 and October 1994 (Aged 18/19)

Green Glass Jar

this is going down,
selling love by a sweet shop
on the corner,
in a green glass jar
as the trees get taller
and people buy even nicer cars
the woods,
are a serial killers playground
but the trees grow to protect,

this is going down,
where nothing is what you expect
take a look around,
there is a house deeply broken
and if you go inside
there is a ghost called sarah
who, when you stand still
just gets nearer and nearer
she touched my arm
and now i know how i truly feel

this is going down,
where the shadows
are animated on the walls
and where it is beyond
that which always calls
making toys quietly
for children who are not there
you only companion, your insanity
you perversions like an aura
i do not know about innocent hearts
wishes, so far away
in a green glass jar
