Secret Lair

i could get back
to where i came from
but i would have to be crazy –
in the head
because at the end of the day
who wants to be dead
and who knows what to say
i could make you a thought
to plant inside your head
and it would grow so high
as long as it was well fed
and you did not let it die

i am too much of a fool for you
don’t you know why?
i could give you precious secrets
that could change your mind
but these secrets demand answers
and they are impossible to find
think about heaven’s dancers
and i could recreate your fantasy
it would be good
but would it include me
and if i asked, i don’t think you would
so can you ever really see?
