Bury it in the Ground – Written Tuesday 15th February 1994 and October 1994 (Aged 18/19)

Bury it in the Ground

i was all alone
so i took myself out
and i caught you,
standing by a public phone
who was you waiting for to call
was he as lonely as me
and was he as much of a fool
i walked past
the air was heavy but strangely cold
and i remembered how i used to be
naivety is an aura to have
but was that ever me?
you have to lose it just to survive
but it is harder to stay alive
happy people seem to be all around
the lucky ones have managed –
to bury all the bad things in the ground

James Garratt – 1994
