As I Wait – Written Sunday 30th October 1994 (Aged 19)

As I Wait

if you go out, be back by three
do not be alone today
will you be there for me?
this is the time for us to get on
your friends are strange
but they love you anyway
and they’ll never cause you pain
living for the moment,
trying to capture it
before it passes away,
living for today
no one seems to notice anyone
we all seem much the same
but they do not know anything
they are to blame,
i would not live again
last week, i was different
i did not know you
now this week i do, and i am new
if you go out,
do not come back too late
i will only sit up all night
missing you as i wait
