I Really Tried

i do not know what i have done
i am just wanting,
wanting to be enjoying myself
i am only young
sometimes,
i haven’t got room –
for a special somebody else
sometimes i am a little self-centred
i only think of myself
no matter how much i wish
i have got to be real
no matter how hard i have tried
my feelings for you –
will never be special
i tell you, i want you
but i know i have lied
you can hear it in my voice
you must be surprised
but i have really tried hard to want you
i have really tried
