Look At Me
for the first time in my life
i can look at me
and really see
for the first time in my life
i understand things
and although now –
i am not always liking –
what i see
at least i can like myself
and be happy,
when i look at me
i am no angel
but you cannot put me down
when i die
i will not be wearing –
the devils crown
i am starting to really –
work things out
understand peoples motives
and for the first time in my life
if i want to be heard –
i do not have to shout
people i thought were okay
suddenly start to amaze me
with their irrational demons
that border on insanity
when i was so alone
some of them never used to care
they could not even be bothered
to pick up the phone
now i have got someone near
suddenly i have to be there for them
they want to be my friend
but it should be a two way thing
where were they –
when i thought it was the end
living their own dream
but now they have lost it –
they try to start on me
