Beaches of Normandy
take me back –
to the beaches of normandy
with my special friend,
just you and me
i know this is not the end
i know thing are getting good
just like you said they would
when i dream –
i am upon a hill –
looking across the water
you can be seen
because,
between you and me –
there is no length
and as i reach out to you
you give me strength
so show me what it is all about
take me back –
to the beaches of normandy
where i lived another life
and seemingly died for my country
in that that big world fight
i am missing you,
i know you are there for me
but it is so hard, i feel you there
but i know i will rarely see
the sight of your face,
and it is only at night
when i am briefly set free
and i see you once again
on the beaches of normandy
