We Can Pretend
we can pretend
but you still want me near
we can move in mirages
sail beautiful canal barges
we can tip-toe through the light
but you still want me near
we can pretend
about being friends
and the days not so clear
but i am here
and i am thinking of you
i am a slave to your whims
and part of your dreams
if only because of the freedom
i hope you will bring
we can pretend
but you still want me near
and i still think of you
but your touch is a dream away
we can pretend
but we will always have to face facts
those do not end
