A Soft Spot – Written October 2001 (Aged 26)

A Soft Spot

a soft spot should not hurt
not even a little
it is just a reminder
of days when reality was brittle

a soft spot
reminds me of when
i cared,
but i did not have it to lend
now we are in this place
walking the tightrope together
it just goes to show
you can never really predict the weather

a soft spot
maybe it is still there
but when i see the world
it is not difficult to care
it is a pity i did not show it
when it really mattered
in a time reality seems to have forgot
so no dreams are really shattered
just keep with the soft spot
