Halo
wear a halo
let it dangle there
let it be a light
for those in despair
neve mind –
the anguish and pain
you would let them suffer
to find redemption again
i have seen many halos
some carry a gun
some have marching feet
most will turn you away
or let blood –
trickle down the street
wear a halo
it is for you and not for them
providing you with security
you never found inside
do you really need a halo
to justify why you are alive
i cannot make you let it go
but a halo is a halo of thorns
and don’t we know
