I Could Not Write a Poem About You

i tried to write a poem
to sum you up
but i could not do the maths
and you are not a selection of lines
no, words are not enough
not to describe how i feel
a poem about you would be just paper
and you are so real
i tried to write a poem
about the way it is
however the beauty of you is far more
and words would never be enough
you are not a sonnet,
you are not a rose,
or a, ‘how i love thee’
you are much more than prose
and much more than the sea
i tried to sum what you are
but it seems ridiculous for me
to compare you to a star
i tried to write a poem
but you are much more than a few lines
what you mean to me,
well it goes far beyond any poem
