No Compensation
no compensation claim
no legal writ
for the pain
or the parachute that hope ripped
take your time
that is my only tip
i once thought the mary celeste
would be my ship
it was a moment of panic
but i was stuck between that
and the sad splendour of the titanic
no lawyers,
to chase down the claims
no money,
to turn away the pain
religion is just a painting,
of jesus in an opulent frame
his disciples are waiting
yet mankind is still lame
why should we expect miracles
making the most of our lot
some of it is ill-gotten
but some people are special
and they should never be forgotten
