The Searcher
the cupboard under the stairs
well, i searched there
i searched in vain
i went away
but i came back again
today was okay
i was able to handle the strain
in the bathroom under the sink
i searched there
i searched without a guiding light
and an unfocused stare
i searched in my bedroom
and i searched in my sleep
with my dainty dreams laid bare
i have searched everywhere
i have searched almost everything
the people in the streets
the dark deep within
i went away
but i always come home
even if i am somebody else
i searched though the bins
and all i found was fragments of myself
