A Chance Meeting

maria is a ghost
one that has come to haunt me
a surreal memory
from a surreal time
a surreal piece of chance
and i have remembered –
exactly how i felt about her
since i met her
all those years ago
i have read thousands of books
i have met many strange people
i have grown and i have changed
but maria is a ghost
and i suspect i could still feel the same
as i did all those years ago
