When You Were Younger
i remember you –
when you were younger
and now,
it would appear,
i have fallen in love –
all over again
perhaps i was never out of love
perhaps it just hid,
because,
i am not sure it ever completely –
ever disappeared
i have found again, the things –
that first time around –
made me fall for you
and this time,
the second time around
they help me float
and this time i do not drown
i know i can captain this boat
and this boat,
it is a cruise liner,
and i remember when –
when i was so much younger
and now, now i have fallen in love
with a vehement hunger
and this time it will not go away
i play with all of my emotions
and i ask you, only, please just stay
