Loose Change
unemployed again
i am worth… loose change
and they still ask,
when am i going to, ‘settle down’
unemployed is not new
another statistic to hide
another faceless face in the question
and this week,
well i feel barely alive
what am i to do
who believes in you?
unemployed again
time far away
and we feel the strain
forms, so many forms to fill
and yet, no one notices my pain
i cannot believe this is real
tired of fighting,
the sick and the terminally ill
i want to meet those
for whom i can actually feel
unemployed again
there is no change there
i am glad i came.
just right now i feel absolutely bare
and once again, i am worth loose change
