Global Greed – Written October 2008 (Aged 33)

Global Greed

so we watch the global markets
as they choke,
on their global greed
and we watch the world
as it slips into the mire
the wheels fall off capitalism
but who can change the tyre?
imperialism and countries fooled
by their own myth
countries talking about targets
and compiling lists
so i watch and drink my wine
protests songs play,
in the concert halls of my mind
and freedom seems far away
just like you,
i watched the world sink today
