City Life
City life—
it does not get them down.
They hang around the streets
where love is lost
and found,
found
and lost,
and where the derelict houses
house only ghosts.
City life
on another planet—
shifting skies
and an easy life.
It is easy,
isn’t it?
I am going to get back home
to the city life
that I know.
Nothing is left for me,
so I will have plenty
to show.
Heavy rain
pours from the sky.
I was born
into city life,
and that is the way
I want to die.
City sun
in a smog‑filled world
where you can’t move
for the traffic,
and everything
is bought and sold.
But the smog
is not as thick,
and the city life
atmosphere—
that is why
I love it,
that is why
I will live here.
City life
is cool,
calm,
and hectic—
is everything
I want,
everything
I like.
City life
is me.
City life
is alright.
