Painting Pictures in My Mind
You have been talking to me,
painting pictures in my mind
without anything to say.
I do not know why I bothered today.
I hope there was some paint.
I couldn’t be anyone else,
so I have been wondering what to do.
You have been speaking to me,
but I wonder why I listened to you.
Words seem to be mixed up
when you are trying to work things out.
Decisions have to be made,
but I do not know what it is about.
I can walk around thinking all I like,
but it will just get me down,
and inside I will fight —
forever in turmoil,
always in darkness and thinking of light.
