Painting Pictures in My Mind – Written March 1995 (Aged 20)

Painting Pictures in My Mind

you have been talking to me
painting pictures in my mind
without anything to say
i do not know why i bothered today
i hope there was some paint
i could not be anyone else
so i have been wondering what to do
you have been speaking to me
but i wonder why i listened to you
words seem to be mixed up
when you are trying to work things out
decisions have to be made
but i do not know what it is about
i can walk around thinking all i like
but it will just get me down
and inside i will fight
forever in turmoil,
always in darkness and thinking of light
