Seven or Eight – Written Sunday 17th January 2016 (Aged 40)

Seven or Eight

no one said,
when you were seven or eight
that your past
was a tangible weight
no one said that the temperature
can be,
so much colder
when you have your past
pressed firmly upon your shoulders
no one said that baggage –
is actually bags
the type stuffed full of your past
both the good and the bad

James Garratt – Sunday 17th January 2016
