When You Are Alone
When you are alone,
who is it you think of?
Is that why you phone
when you have had enough?
We are weak on our own,
but together we can be tough.
I wonder about you
and all that it means.
I do not know what to do,
so I swim in my dreams —
the ones that concern you.
Moving out when you are gone,
I think of getting home,
and as the day becomes long,
I sit there and wait for the phone —
when you are alone.
