Confused Soft Soled Shoes
i would like to cry about you
but my tears –
they would swim away
i know they have a job to do
and when i think of early days
i want to love you
as a parent
with an unconditional love
but as children
we were often not enough
i am sad,
and something hurts
but so much of our lives
did not turn up for work
and my tears,
they do exist
and they know what to do
but when it comes to me feelings
they cannot resolve the complex clues
and grief, it can only shuffle
in its confused, soft soled shoes
