I Try As Hard As I Can
i try as hard as i can
i am not a martyr
i am not looking for flowers
or a million thankyous
but i try as hard as i can
i respond to criticism
as if it a burning touch
i respond in cynicism
and i wonder if try too much
i try as hard as i can
is it not good enough?
left to sit in the street
with me and my luck
i am not a religious son
i am tired and craving peace
i try as hard as i can
the nest egg looks gold
because it is a lifetimes future plans
