Victorian – Written June 1997 (Aged 22)

are you waiting for them
like pretty victorian dolls
keep them warm
or catch a cold
to go out, you can take a while
but you have got to smile
like pretty victorian dolls
and how it was as a child
are you waiting for them
to come and rescue you
to come and find you
sweet as it seems
i bet you still have romantic dreams
made of china and not plastic
like pretty victorian doors
how you can be fantastic
like pretty victorian floors
as we focus on society
and ache for morality
like some moral emporium
we wonder what we are waiting for
we seem so victorian
like those china dolls
those pretty victorian dolls
the type that needs to be wanted
i know that we are all waiting
waiting for something
but i hope it is good
