Running Scared
are we running scared
running bare
running everywhere but nowhere
i am running into you
and i am afraid to stare
because it might reveal my sad lust
i hope my charm gleams like metal
but i fear it is riddled with rust
and merely nothing at all
if we keep on running
we might just get somewhere
instead of staying on the spot
didn’t we meet here before?
this place got us nowhere
are we running scared
running bare
aching with tiredness
aching to care
i am gladly anticipating –
what lies in the future
but i am scared as well
this is why i am bare
running bare, running scared
