Hardest Person to Beat

hardest person to beat
is the one that is like no one else
and that person –
is the shadow that stems from your feet
and that person is yourself
the hardest person of all –
to get along with
because we are all so destructive
but through the fog the sun eventually comes
as we dream to live
just playing a game
the hardest person to beat
is the soul who inherits your name
the one who becomes a human being
and once you beat yourself
you can do anything
once you have truly looked at yourself
solved the puzzle and made some sense
then you’ve got all the confidence
all the confidence you will ever need –
to do as you please
