No Apparent Reason
no apparent reason
i had to take it on the chin
i had to smile
i had to grin
no rationale
no reason why
but i was so hurt
i had to watch myself cry
no apparent reason
because i have more than most
but why should some of my aspirations
masquerade as a ghost
so close
yet so far
the self pity in my life
is often the fuel of this car
no apparent reason
this funny age
still all so nine to five
trying to bust out of this cage
still waiting
still shaking
no apparent reason
it’s just a way i feel
at least for them
for the time being, his dreams are real
